Frequently Asked Questions

  • In 2019, I completed my Master's degree in Health Care Psychology at the University of Amsterdam.

Since 2020, I’ve been working as a psychologist in a private practice in Amsterdam.

I have been a registered member of the Netherlands Institute of Psychologists (NIP) since 2020.

In addition to my Master’s degree, I’ve completed the following trainings:

    • Basic course in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

    • EMDR Basic Training

    • Emotion Focused Therapy, Level 1

    • Foundational training to become a Mindfulness Trainer

    • Breathwork Coach Training with Annette Weers Opleidingen

Outside of formal training, I’ve been familiar with meditation since childhood, though not always consistently!
So I also know firsthand the challenges that come with maintaining a mindfulness or meditation practice.

I’ve received therapy myself at various points in my life, and I deeply understand the courage it takes to open up and be vulnerable.
That experience continues to inform how I relate to the people I work with with empathy, humility, and respect.

  • I don’t work with formal diagnoses.
If you do feel the need for one, I’m happy to think along with you and help explore where you might be able to get this.

Not having a diagnosis also has its advantages.
It means I’m not required to follow strict treatment protocols, which allows me to respond more freely and fully to what you need.
It also means that none of your personal information is shared with a health insurance provider, something many people find reassuring.

  • Unfortunately, the sessions are not covered by health insurance.

You pay a fixed fee per session.

For breathwork sessions, a discount is available if you book multiple sessions at once.

In some cases, your employer may be willing to reimburse (part of) the costs, especially if the sessions support your well-being, stress management, or personal development.

  • Psychological support

Our first session is an intake conversation that lasts one hour. Together, we’ll explore what you're struggling with and what you'd like to work on.

In the second session, we’ll get started right away with a personalised plan. This also includes discussing what success would look like for you, which can be different for everyone.

Maybe your main goal is simply to have someone who listens, so your focus is on being able to share your story. Or perhaps you want to learn a specific skill or find new ways to cope.

We can decide in advance how many sessions you’d like, or we can leave that open. It’s completely up to you. Nothing is fixed, and there’s no obligation.

    Connected breathwork sessions

Breathwork sessions always last 1.5 hours, but the first session takes 2 hours.
We’ll use the first half hour for an intake, so we can get a clear sense of what you’re dealing with and what you hope to get out of the sessions.

Beforehand, you’ll receive an intakeform to fill out. This gives me a bit more background information and helps me assess whether connected breathwork is suitable for your situation.

  • A connected breathwork session of 1.5 hours and the first session of 2 hours costs €125 (excl. 21% VAT).

A talk therapy session of 1 hour costs €100.
Please note that 10 minutes of that time is reserved for session notes and reflection, so the conversation itself lasts approximately 50 minutes.

  • If you’re unable to attend your appointment, I kindly ask that you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours in advance. You can do this by email.

Appointments that are not cancelled in time will be fully charged. This policy is necessary because your time slot is reserved especially for you and often cannot be filled on short notice.

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Absolutely! I believe in the value of in-person connection, but it’s also possible to book online sessions.

Please note: Connected breathwork sessions are not (yet) available online.

  • How I protect your privacy

If talking about it doesn’t resolve the issue, you can reach out to an independent complaints officer via the Netherlands Institute of Psychologists (NIP), of which I’m a member. There’s also the option to file a formal complaint with the College of Supervision at the NIP.
